Dr. Col. Adishankar Mishra ‘Aditya’ Selected from Uttar Pradesh and Conferred with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award 2026’ Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: Eminent poet, writer, litterateur, social worker and retired Indian Army officer Dr. Col. Adishankar Mishra ‘Aditya’ (Vidyavachaspati, Vidyasagar) has been conferred with the prestigious ‘Lifetime Achievement Award 2026’ by the SHMV Foundation, Hyderabad. The Foundation’s selection committee selected Dr. Mishra as the Best Personality from Uttar Pradesh for this distinguished honour. The award recognises his outstanding service to the nation during his tenure in the Indian Army, as well as his significant and inspiring contributions to the preservation, promotion and development of Hindi language, continuous literary work, and social service. Dr. Gundal Vijay Kumar Congratulates Dr. Mishra Dr. Gundal Vijay Kumar, Founder of SHMV Foundation, congratulated Dr. Col. Adishankar Mishra ‘Aditya’ on receiving the honour. He said, “Dr. Col. Adishankar Mishra ‘Aditya’ has served the nation with distinction during his tenure in the Indian Army and has continued to contribute to nation-building after retirement through his work in Hindi language, literature and social service. His life is an inspiring example of dedication to national service, literary pursuits and social responsibility.” He further stated that, in recognition of Dr. Mishra’s long-standing contributions and achievements, the Foundation’s selection committee chose him as the Best Personality from Uttar Pradesh and decided to confer upon him the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award 2026’. He also wished Dr. Mishra continued good health, an active life and further success in his endeavours. Distinguished Contribution to Literature and Social Service Dr. Col. Adishankar Mishra ‘Aditya’ has previously been honoured with three honorary doctorate degrees, along with prestigious honorary titles and distinctions including Bharat Gaurav, Vidyavachaspati, Vidyasagar, Sahitya Ratna and Sahitya Shiromani, conferred by Kashi Hindi Vidyapeeth. For his contributions to literature and social service, he has received more than 900 national and international awards, commendations and certificates to date. Under his ‘Adityayan’ series, 11 poetry collections and two collections of essays have been published. His writings have also appeared in more than 100 collaborative poetry anthologies and have been regularly published in various newspapers and magazines. Five additional collections of poetry and essays are currently under publication. Dr. Col. Adishankar Mishra ‘Aditya’ has also been featured in the OMG Book of World Records, recognising his distinctive contribution to literature and society.
